Description

Professionals are under more stress than ever evidenced by increases in demand for better services that are more efficient and thorough, higher costs, reduced staffing, and diminishing resources.

Many workers are putting in longer hours and for less pay. From working overtime to simply burning the midnight oil catching up on paperwork, the work industry puts a great deal of stress and fatigue on the average worker and their relationships, including family.

Many professionals bear witness to workplace challenges that range from troublesome to traumatic. As a result, high stress and burnout are major hazards of any profession.

This seminar focuses on understanding each of these challenges. In addition to defining and comparing these conditions, specific triggers will be explored. Participants will gain awareness of key signs and symptoms of stress and burnout while learning how to manage stressors and their consequences. Specific attention will be given to physical, emotional/mental, and behavioral symptoms.

Awareness training is a key component of the seminar. Underlying beliefs about stress are explored and other general signs and symptoms of burnout are explained.

Strategies for management and prevention are shared, including mindfulness training and behaviors that can help reduce the frequency, duration, and intensity of high stress and prevent burnout. Participants will have an opportunity to create their own individualized management and prevention plans. Integrative Resilience Theory is a new and highly effective platform from which to build, change and grow individuals, teams, and entire organizations. Part one of the training focuses on the overall theory of Integrative Resilience. Participants will learn about its etiology, including major influencers of the development of this idea. A comparison to other ideas will show how it is similar to and different from other stress management burnout prevention theories. Finally, examples are shared showing how Integrative Resilience Theory fits in the modern workplace environment.

Internal and external triggers are explored with regard to stressors, how they are mismanaged and what can be done to implement resilience concepts discussed in the previous segment of the training.

Two highly relevant areas of stress and adversity are covered in the third segment. Numerous scholarly studies, particularly in the field of healthcare and other service professions note that burnout among workers is increasing at alarming rates. Additionally, workplace and relationship conflict and are highly researched areas and worthy of discussion when it comes to applied Integrative Resilience. In this segment, participants will explore how conflict and burnout lead to imbalance and what can be done to better manage workers/employees through the Integrative Resilience model.

In the final segment of the training, participants will learn applied strategies for creating standout individualism and remarkable teamwork using a work/life balance model that uniquely fits individual company values and workplace structure. The optimal balance of teamwork and individual effort is explored through seeking opportunities to ignite both aspects in the workplace!
