Description

Conference Summary:

Infusions are used in several specialties of medicine for the therapeutic, diagnostic, or prophylactic treatment of conditions and diseases. Infusions are
also a part of cancer treatment in the form of chemotherapy. Assigning the appropriate CPT and ICD-10 codes for these forms of treatment rely on good documentation and a knowledge of the codes that are used. There is a risk of loss of revenue when the coding does not represent all of the services performed, as well as the drugs and chemotherapy that are administered during these services. This webinar will discuss the coding assignment, as well as the documentation that is necessary for full reimbursement related to these services.

Conference Expectations:

The expectations of this conference is that the attendee upon the completion of the conference should have an understanding of assigning codes and modifiers for reimbursement all forms of infusion, in addition to the other insurance guidelines and rules that have to be followed. We will also discuss tips on what is the best practice for documentation to be able to pass an insurance audit.

1. Documentation requirements need for stop and start time of infusions
2. Proper coding for the timed codes for administration
3. CPT® add on codes that are interchangeable with primary codes
4. Real coding scenarios that included when you can report subsequent and concurrent
codes for different drugs
5. When you can report hydration therapy
6. Most current Medicare policy manual guidelines for infusion therapy
