Description

This webinar provides an often-overlooked basic overview of the requirements for annual HIPAA training for staff as that training may be completed by an internal compliance officer. The attendee will be provided with a background on the basis for the laws that will provide a higher level of understanding that will be beneficial for building the trainer’s confidence. The attendee will also learn the basic requirements for a Notice of Privacy Practices as well as when authorizations are and are not required for the use and disclosure of a patient’s protected health information. The latter half of the webinar will focus on how to instruct staff in the identification of a breach and what is required of the compliance officer to perform the required process to remedy a breach if it is determined one has occurred.

Learning Objectives:-

  • HIPAA Basics
  • Notice of Privacy Practices
  • Use and Disclosure of PHI
