Description

Home health agencies continue to scramble to address the new Conditions of Participation (CoPs), even as the deadline has passed. It’s increasingly clear that CoPs compliance will impact compliance with multiple other regulations. While you’re catching up to the new CoPs, be sure you’re not dropping the ball on overlapping requirements.

For example, the new CoPs include a requirement for home health records access that will force agencies to change how they respond to requests for access under HIPAA. Also, the new rules regarding patient discharge will require agencies to carefully consider and articulate their Equal Employment Opportunity Commission (EEOC) policies and procedures concerning harassment and discrimination — topics that are under greater scrutiny now than ever before, as a result of events in Washington, D.C. and Hollywood.

The interaction between these rules is important because the lack of clarity under the new CoPs raises risks that agencies may, in moving forward with CoPs compliance, inadvertently move themselves out of compliance with other regulatory requirements.

Watch this webinar presented by renowned home health attorney, Robert W. Markette, Jr., CHC. In this important 60-minute presentation, Robert will look at the new CoPs in light of related legal and regulatory issues to provide additional guidance and clarity to home health providers.

Watch to learn:-

  • Why "legal representative" is a concept you should already be familiar with
  • What compliance with PPACA 1557 (the nondiscrimination provision of the Affordable Care Act) may mean for the new CoPs and the key policies you should highlight in surveys
  • Why you must be more aware of and prepared to take swift action on harassment issues
  • What harassment issues mean for your discharge policies

Watch this essential webinar to ensure you don't drop the ball on other regulations while you’re catching up with the CoPs!
